Hoste Hainse Education Center, Sarlahi

Functioning from 4 Hoste Hainse Education Centres (HHEC) in 4 different VDCs at Sarlahi district, Hoste Hainse has been accommodating free education for school children in the region since 1999. To secure the educational right of the children who hail from the deprived, underprivileged and socially entrenched groups, the centers were commenced a more than a decade at the central region of southern Terai belt in Nepal. The staffs and teachers working for the smooth operation of these education wings are 34 in total.

The donors of the project are Die Zukunft, of Germany, Third Creek Foundation, USA, Barney Family, USA, Patric Episcopal Church, USA and Kindermissionwerk Germany. The schools, apart from providing good education time and again have also been organizing extracurricular activities such as quiz-contest, debate, essay writing, speech, paintings, drawing, sports, dancing, singing and annual cultural program. Students are also occasionally encouraged to get involved in social works activities as village sanitation program, awareness campaign etc for the progress of their community.

With comparison to other schools, both the teachers and students in HHEC are well disciplined and serious in their studies. Even the parents show their concern for their children's' education. Thus the team work between teachers, parents and staff is excellent. Unlike some other educational institutions in the region, school activities of HHEC remain unfettered from any political interference.
